The colors will be more vivid, due to the over saturation the 101 screen has, which I love. The only benefits to running a 001 over a 101 is cost, and direct sunlight playability. Unless you will be playing in heavy sunlight more than not, the extra cost is far worth it for the superior screen.

Yes, an AGS-101 does look better, but the AGS-001 does not look bad and it should be a lot cheaper than an AGS-101. FuriousKrone • 6 yr. ago. That's exactly what I've been thinking. The DS is significantly cheaper and I can play GBA and DS games if I like. But the nostalgia of the SP seems better in the long run.
Custom Pikachu Themed AGS-101 GBA SP. Great little handheld! I bought it because I wanted to play my old Pokémon games on a gba for a bit of nostalgia . But because the one I had laying around had a nonfunctional screen I decided I wanted a new one. This Pikachu themed gba so is great!
I also have a GB Micro which has been my main GBA for a few months and comparing the both screens, the Micro's screen is just a lot brighter than the modded GBA. I wanted to know if this was because there was a problem with the mod itself, or this was the case with AGS-101 screens in general?
